It was a great tournament, I met players from different countries.
I will repeat the experiment next year, although it will be difficult for me to do better.
Thanks to the organizer and the referee.

The organizers thank you!!!

I would like to congratulate all the participants of the tournament on its completion and wish them further success in the black and white fields. For me, this tournament was so successful for the first time, and if it were not for the annoying mistake of skipping the game, it could compete for the first place. I want to congratulate Samarth J Rao on the well-deserved 1st place and all my rivals on a good game.

Good evening Ondrej,
maybe it is possible to ask explanations to the site playok. They may be able to answer the facts that two players are connected to the same email address, at the same time on the same table. It is an idea.

This is the case if 2 players play 2 computers from one ip address.

cheating in chess is a very dishonest atitude

(Ondrej Bastak Duran, 2018-03-06 03:00)

Dear chess-players,

I decided to open a discussion here on theme CHEATING in chess and particuliary in the Ope-net tournament.

There´re few facts that make me sad in the tournament:

1 I reaceived a couple of messages from players with a suspection from cheating of their opponents

2 Ope-net is a friendly tournament with no effect on your FIDE rating so I consider a motivation to cheat as very stupid and dishonest
- what for to cheat? To win a winning cup thanks to power of your computer? Does such a win has a value for you?

3 Or would some players due to cheating like to win the little money we used to share among the winners? Do you sell your honesty for tens of euro?

4 I am really sad and disapointed from thinking of un-fair chess game in our tournament - we established the tournament for people with severe disability, to allow them to compete, to make friends in foreign countries, to join each-other despite of bad circumstances in their life - GENS UNA SUMUS - this is a motto of chess - not suspections from cheating

5 Please do not cheat and play your game honestly!

In the next year I would like to establish a cometee of 3 persons who will decide if somebody is cheating or not. If the commition will confirm cheating of any player - he/she will be disqualified for ever from our tournament and his/her name will be published in the list of chess cheaters.

I would like to hear your own ideas and experiences in the area of cheating in chess and I would welcome any good considerations how to avoid cheating in our tournament.

Best regards,

What is the interest to cheat in chess?
I understand cheaters in World's cup of soccer can win lot of money, but in chess games ?

Just play for fun and honor...

On chess.com I play in 3min+0, like that nobody can cheat...

Good Game to all.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid there is no technical solution to fight cheating.
I think it should be clearly written in the rules: no database, no chess engine and no human help (except to enter a move if necessary because of the handicap).
Maybe the player should commit himself to respect the rules when registering.
Anyway, thank you for organizing such a tournament :=)

Dear Ondrey,
Adding a third person is a good idea.
It would also be good if the participation in the tournament went with WebCam.
That would make the games even more exciting. ;)
I am taking part in this tournament for the first time and I am very grateful for the organization and implementation.
Best regards

Hello, My second hobby is a computer. Once in 2014, together with a friend, I was running a chess tournament on playok.
Then playok worked with the help of Java. For 1 month of handling this tournament I removed 4 people for cheating 3 players rightly 1 player unfortunately not right.
I know and describe 4 methods for cheating. 1. method: flashing is then like during the game you open a new window or card, another program, eg chess. 2. method: skype and friend as suggested by the movement. 3. method: 2 computer next to, recognize when weak player suddenly plays strong moves, but plays slowly and in the end when he has little time and the game alone does stupid weak moves. 4 method: bot bot is a small program which automatically plays for a human player, the bot can be recognized after a very fast game of 1 to 4 seconds for movement, rather no one from people plays so fast.
Unfortunately, people for cheat between cheat, or even just for their own self and pride.
How to counter cheating on playok, I had a program that analyzed the compatibility with chess engine movements, less like 30% weak player 30% -60% normal player 60% -90% strong player or program 90% -100% rather certainly chess program or Garry Kasparov. That's why you need to take statistics and player style.
There is the Playches fritz program which has no cheat, but it is paid and the wheel closes. Regards, robotszach.
